On Friday, September 18, 2020, Charle’s daughter Katherine, let the Rare Ones of New Orleans and all its Associate Members know her father passed away after battling a long illness. It is with a very heavy heart we send out deepest condolences to Charlie’s Family.
Charlie supported the Rare Ones of New Orleans with his big signal from Regan, Tennessee and with his gentle friendly nature. His love for amateur radio, model airplanes, and painting were just a few of his many interest. I had the pleasure of meeting Charlie at the Huntsville Hamfest and shared a great lunch at the only Cajun restaurant in Huntsville. During that visit Charlie gave me two of his paintings. They were paintings of ducks flying in the wild. I framed both of this paintings and hung them at my fishing and hunting camp in Myrtle Grove, Louisiana. Every time I pass those paintings I think of Charlie and all the great conversations we had on 40 Meters.
He was a good friend to me personally and of all the Rare Ones of New Orleans. He was beloved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed.
As we look up to the heavens above, we salute Charlie with a Big 73 from the Rare Ones of New Orleans.

Charles was very proud to be part of your organization and he expressed that to me in many conversations. I miss my friend and I know he is not suffering anymore. Fly High My friend! 73s Keith.
