I RECIEVED BOTH AWARDS ! I ALWAYS HAD GREAT QSOs , WITH THE “RARE ONES” ; THIS WAS NOT A “NET”, BUT FUN/INFORMATIVE ROUNTABLE/CHATS.
I BUILT A DOUBLE BAZOOKA (105 FT. LONG). PRIOR TO MY FIRST “RARE ONES ” QSO IN MARCH OF 2017. IT IS UP 48 FT , IN AN INV VEE CONFIG. ENDS ARE UP 18 FT. THE VEE ANGLE IS APPROX 140 DEG.
THE ANTENNA SWR IS 1 :1 IN THE MIDDLE (3750 & 7150) OF BOTH 80 and 40 METERS , I DO NOT USE A TUNER , AND ONLY RUN 60 TO 100 WATTS. ( I get 10 over RST reports a lot ; hi hi).
I AGREE , BUY A BIG RADIO and a KILOWATT AMP ,…… BUT….. …. AN ANTENNA THAT RESONATES WITH LOW SWR IS MANDATORY !! DON N8JIW SHAKER HTS., OH.
